However, for several months I worked with him and his team to help him understand the organization of an event in which balloonists from all over the world are the heroes.<\/p>\n

For 30 years, this event has become one of the highlights of the ballooning calendar. A key player in the development of the Grand Est region and Lorraine, the event generated numerous economic spin-offs.<\/p>\n
Over the past few days, messages of support have been pouring in from all over the world. Pilots, crew members, former employees, volunteers, partners – they’re all astonished by this unexpected turn of events.<\/p>\n
I still have hope of finding a buyer capable of continuing the history of this institution, which can attract hundreds of thousands of spectators and media from all over the world.
I still have faith in the future and I intend to defend this heritage.<\/p>\n

The 19th<\/sup> edition of the Grand Est Mondial Air Ballons will take place from Friday July 25 to Sunday August 03, 2025. The Lorraine-based company Groupe ABC will now preside over the event's destiny. <\/p>\n\n After event designer Philippe Buron Pil\u00e2tre announced the end of his activities last July, the prospects of continuity seemed very hypothetical, and a great deal of commotion broke out on social networks. <\/p>\n\n The ABC Group, which is well known in Lorraine and the Grand Est region, is already well-versed in event organization, being France's 2nd-largest event equipment rental company, and is also heavily involved in the Moselle Open tennis tournament, has submitted its bid to take over the GEMAB in December 2023. Groupe ABC has been a supplier to the event since 1999.<\/p>\n\n Philippe Buron Pil\u00e2tre will remain with the buyer until the next edition of GEMAB25, as technical advisor.
