On Chambley Planet\u2019Air base,\u00a0the sun has turn by turn warmed up the hearts &#8211; and\u00a0bodies &#8211; of our volunteers and played hide and seek<br \/>\nwith the clouds. Meanwhile, Helios blew hot and cold&#8230;\u00a0Nonetheless, our weather team knew how to find the<br \/>\nperfect time slot to allow our colorful bubbles to take\u00a0off right in front of our first spectators and guests. The<br \/>\nparty was able to begin on a high note and the day\u00a0ended with a beautiful starry sky.\u00a0We could not have dreamed of more favourable\u00a0auspices for this thirtieth year.<\/p>\n<h4>Pilots &#8211; Queue or go home<\/h4>\n<p>What would a GEMAB be without pilots to offer this\u00a0spectacular and colorful sky of hot air balloons ?<br \/>\nSince Thursday, more than 500 pilots have arrived on\u00a0the site of the event. Among them, some come from far<br \/>\nfar away such as the Israeli pilot or the one from Taiwan\u00a0who flies a hot air balloon in the shape of a bear.\u00a0The great team of Sarah LAURENT welcomed them\u00a0warmly and in the best of conditions. On this occasion,<br \/>\nthe pilots received badges and credentials giving them\u00a0access to the different areas of the site as well as the\u00a0\u2018Bonjour Card\u2019, the loyalty card used to make purchases\u00a0at the bar, in the pilots restaurant as well as in the\u00a0official shop of the GEMAB.<\/p>\n<h4>Pilots &#8211; A Solar birthday<\/h4>\n<p>Yesterday was the 3rd birthday of the Solar Impulse\u2019s\u00a0round-the-world trip, the first solar plane to realise<br \/>\nsuch an achievement!\u00a0Bertrand Piccard has been thinking about this\u00a0ambitious project since 1999. It will have taken nearly\u00a013 years, and more than a hundred people working on\u00a0the project to realise this dream. One after the other,\u00a0Bertrand Piccard and his acolyte have flied their \u201cbird\u201d\u00a0made of composite material and supplied by solar\u00a0energy.\u00a0This round-the-world trip allowed them to present\u00a0their project to various publics: political, scientific and\u00a0curious people from all around the world.\u00a0This year again, Bertrand Piccard honours us of his\u00a0presence. Maybe you will pass him on one of the\u00a0villages!<\/p>\n<h4>Pilots &#8211; Biopropane makes us fly!<\/h4>\n<p>It is a first at the GEMAB: all of our hot air balloons are\u00a0flying thanks to Biopropane. It is a 100% renewable\u00a0biogas. No change in installation nor in equipment\u00a0is required. This gas reduces by 80% the emissions\u00a0of carbon dioxide while keeping the properties of the\u00a0propane. It is produced from biomasses &#8211; mostly\u00a0from industrial or vegetal inputs &#8211; and is thus more\u00a0respectful of the environment. Located at the heart of\u00a0the Lorraine Regional Nature Reserve, a remarkable\u00a0natural area, the #GEMAB promotes an approach\u00a0respectful of the environment.<\/p>\n<h4>Partners &#8211; The LAB\u2019 Caisse d\u2019Epargne freshens\u00a0up<\/h4>\n<p>Dream, passion, innovation and willfulness to take\u00a0action. It is in the LAB\u2019 Caisse d\u2019Epargne that we put\u00a0those four values in the spotlight! In this area, several\u00a0dozen startups and innovative firms are presenting\u00a0their projects during ten days. A true swarm of\u00a0innovations and animation to be discovered between\u00a04 and 8 pm with daily conferences and pitch contests.\u00a0We hope that many of you will visit this area which\u00a0will make you realise that future is is on the brink of\u00a0tomorrow.<\/p>\n<h4>Public -Astronomy enthusiasts<\/h4>\n<p>On the Boulevard, the stand of CICAME led by Maurice\u00a0MARTIN and Philippe SOLES, two astronomy enthusiasts,\u00a0offers an exhibition on Apollo.\u00a0These astronomy clubs from the Northeast of France\u00a0present models that helps to better understand the\u00a0way our solar system works.Among these astronomy\u00a0clubs, the Allamps Club &#8211; for which Maurice Martin\u00a0is in charge &#8211; also proposes to adults and children\u00a0its 27th astronomy training to better understand the\u00a0dimensions of our solar system. It will take place next\u00a0October. The astronomy evenings organized during the\u00a0Grand Est Mondial Air Ballons will be animated by the\u00a0Astronomy Clubs of Amneville and Metz this year.<\/p>\n<h4>Public &#8211; Welcome at the Grand Est Tourism\u00a0stand<\/h4>\n<p>As the #GEMAB19\u2019s first partner, Grand Est has\u00a0obviously a stand in the public village. It aims\u00a0to promote actions that are at the heart of the\u00a0Grande Region, such as the installation of high-speed optical fiber or the implementation of its\u00a0new regional transport brand: Fluo. The stand also\u00a0offers the opportunity to discover regional products\u00a0and to highlight the cultural heritage of five touristic\u00a0destinations: Champagne, Ardennes, Vosges, Alsace\u00a0and Lorraine.
