Le 14 octobre le vaisseau Soyouz MS-17 s\u2019est amarr\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019ISS, seulement 3 heures 03 minutes apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9collage depuis le cosmodrome de Ba\u00efkonour (Kazakhstan). Un tel voyage prenait jusqu\u2019alors 6 heures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La navette transportant l\u2019astronaute am\u00e9ricaine Kathleen Rubins et ses deux coll\u00e8gues russes Sergue\u00ef Ryjikov et Sergue\u00ef Koud-Sverchkov a donc r\u00e9alis\u00e9 une sacr\u00e9e performance en divisant par deux le temps de trajet. Les Russes ont en effet mis au point un syst\u00e8me de guidage qui permet de s\u2019amarrer \u00e0 l\u2019ISS en seulement deux (et non trois orbites). Une innovation test\u00e9e en avril dernier avec le vaisseau Progress qui avait ravitaill\u00e9 la station spatiale.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Les 3 passagers ont donc retrouv\u00e9 les 3 autres locataires dans la station. Ces derniers doivent repartir vers la Terre le 22 octobre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u2019est le premier lancement russe depuis le succ\u00e8s de SpaceX le 30 mai dernier. Ce vol avait permis de mettre fin aux neuf ann\u00e9es de supr\u00e9matie russe, ce qu\u2019avaient du mal \u00e0 supporter les am\u00e9ricains. Le prochain vol de SpaceX est pr\u00e9vu pour novembre emportant 3 am\u00e9ricains et un japonais. La \u201cguerre\u201d de supr\u00e9matie entre les deux pays n\u2019est pas finie car la perte pour les Russes depuis le succ\u00e8s de Space X est de 80 millions de dollars que la Russie facturait aux Etats Unis pour chaque vol.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\uddec\ud83c\udde7 <strong>Russian speed record to reach the ISS<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The news has gone almost unnoticed as the pandemic is so much in the headlines. On October 14th, the Soyuz MS-17 docked at the ISS only 3 hours 03 minutes after takeoff from the Baikonur Cosmodrome (Kazakhstan). Such a journey used to take 6 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shuttle carrying American astronaut Kathleen Rubins and her two Russian colleagues Sergei Ryjikov and Sergei Koud-Sverchkov performed very well, halving the travel time. The Russians have developed a guidance system that allows the astronauts to dock at the ISS in just two (rather than three) orbits. This innovation was tested last April with the Progress spacecraft which refuelled the space station.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 3 passengers were thus reunited with the 3 other tenants on the station. The latter are due to return to Earth on October 22nd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the first Russian launch since the success of SpaceX on May 30th. This flight had put an end to nine years of Russian supremacy, which the Americans could hardly bear. The next SpaceX flight is scheduled for November carrying three Americans and one Japanese.
