I am a hot air balloon pilot since 30 years. I have more than 3000 hours of flight to my credit. I had the chance to fly in the following countries: Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, England, France, Italy, Israel, Dubai, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam, Malaysia, Philippines, India …
I come to Grand Est Mondial Air Ballons since 2009! We come back regularly to fly with the hundreds of balloons, to see all our friends we have met, and also because it is a very friendly and non-commercial event.
My favorite moments are the Great Line and the morning flights. Flying in the middle of these hundreds of balloons is amazing!
When we go to GEMAB, we always tell our crew members that in France, it rains in the south and it rains in the north but never here!
If I had to advise a pilot who has never come to Chambley, I would say to him to come and enjoy it! It is a nice event, friendly and not so expensive! Think of it as a vacation! 🙂
On the other hand, it is also an opportunity to visit the Lorraine region, place of history and monuments of the First World War, including the city of Verdun.
