#GEMAB21 Ambassadors: Desiree Reddick Head – USA 🇺🇸
I have been ballooning for 35 years, I have more than 1000 hours of flight. I have flown in the USA, Germany, France, Austria, Luxemburg.
My greatest balloon record is that I am the mother to the world’s youngest person to solo pilot a hot air balloon. My son, JT, soloed last year when he was 8 years old.
I have been coming to Grand Est Mondial Air Ballons since 1991. I come back every two years because of the wonderful people, the beautiful countryside, the wine and champagne and to see old friends and make new ones.
My favorite moment during the GEMAB is the Great Line. When I am in the middle of all these balloons, I feel like a child at Christmas!
If you are a balloonist and have never been to Chambley, come and see the beautiful balloons, the wonderful French people and the beautiful French countryside. And taste the excellent French wine & champagne.
During my free time, I have taken the opportunity to visit many things in the area: Lake Madine, Hattonchatel, WWI & WWII monuments, Champagne region & caves. We have also visited the cathedral in Reims and Dom Perignon’s grave.
A funny anecdote about GEMAB : One time, we calmed an upset landowner by offering him champagne. We drank and toasted, and then he went into his house and returned with a bottle of home made Mirabelle to share!
