Les années passent et les ballons demeurent. Il y avait eu en 1983 la première édition au Parc de Sainte Croix à Rhodes (Moselle) ; puis en 1984 sur le site de l’ancienne foire exposition à Metz (Moselle). Mais la première grande manifestation remonte à Metz en 1985 (Challenge Pilâtre de Rozier) avec 150 ballons dans le ciel décollant en grappes depuis les principales places de la ville. Un grand moment ! Ce fut alors la création du club, de l’école de formation, de l’atelier de réparation puis de la fabrique de montgolfières, etc. Vingt cinq ans déjà ! Un magazine en trois langues (français, anglais et allemand) paraîtra avant le Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons. 184 pages retraçant les grandes heures de l’aérostation en Lorraine et dans le monde. Un futur « collector » pour un quart de siècle.

In 1983, a first edition of balloons gathering in Sainte Croix Park in Rhodes (Moselle)was held; then in 1984 on the site of the former exhibition place in Metz (Moselle). But the first big gathering happened in Metz in 1985 (Challenge Pilâtre de Rozier) with 150 hot-air balloons in the sky taking off in clusters from the main places of the city. A great moment! It was then the creation of the club, the training school, the repair shop the hot-air balloons factory, etc. Twenty five years already! A three languages magazine (French, English and German) will be published before the Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons. 184 pages to remember the great moments of the aerostation in Lorraine and in the world. A « collector » edition for a quarter of century.
