The Great Line: a shared dream
At each edition, everyone watches for the weather as of Friday. Will we succeed in completing the Great Line on Sunday morning? When the conditions are favourable, it is indeed a special event that pilots, crews, organization, partners, visitors and of course the media are waiting for. It needs the briefing to be brought forward by almost half an hour in order to give instructions to the pilots and to give them time to line up along the main runway, the Ulm runway and since a few editions, the glider runway. Some years, we even had to put two rows on the main runway. The last best record was set in 2017 with 456 balloons. Beyond the beauty of the show, it is a real tour de force for the flight directors and the starters to organize the choreography. [/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
