Sorry for you and for us, we believed in the evening flight until the end. Some pilots saved the situation by agreeing to make their burners sing to thank the public with a show. The summer heat is back and this was strongly felt in the public attendance on this children’s day. We received more than a hundred of them coming from recreational centers. Finally, the press lunch brought together the Pilâtre de Rozier ambassadors of #GEMAB. A warm moment where we evoked those who could not join us, whether they come from Mexico, the Czech Republic or Malaysia. Thanks to them, the fiber of sympathy has been maintained throughout the past fifteen months. In this troubled world, it was a moment of peace and fraternity.

The Flight Direction was convinced the wind would decrease. In the end it almost happened. But once more the situation did not favor us. Enough to make us forget the morning flight, a little bit windy but so beautiful. I will not venture telling you that the anticyclone is getting stronger and gives up hope for better chances. I will not remind you that the flight average is 14 out of 19 possible. I will not either tell you that it is because of climate change. All of it is true but so meaningless when you see the eyes filled with tears of a little boy who wanted so much to see the balloons. I promise you kiddo, we’ll do everything tomorrow to make your wish come true. But promise me to become a pilot one day.
