The aeronautical news as well as the history of aviation are aligned to propose us anniversaries in connection with the GEMAB. It is always the occasion to remember the great moments that we have crossed for more than 30 years. In this regard, it is in 1993 that we arrived on the old base of Chambley, which did not have the infrastructures that we know today. In 2023 we will celebrate the 240th anniversary of the first human flight by Pilâtre de Rozier (November 21st 1783). Let’s not forget that the GEMAB was also created to recall that it is in Lorraine that the pioneer of the air was born. And that 40 years ago was created the first Challenge Pilâtre de Rozier in Metz. The first one took place in the Parc Saint Croix, then the years that followed (until 1992) over Metz.
