Since 2019, the Atelier de la Montgolfière in Reims is located in the heart of BallonVille Pilote. In the past this activity had already been present, but sporadically. Jean-Marie Huttois, pilot/instructor of hot-air balloons has been in charge of this repair and maintenance workshop for many years. During the GEMAB he is setting up sewing machines, fabrics, technical staff members etc. in order to meet the expectations of the pilots, who unfortunately sometimes encounter problems with burners, tears or burns on their envelope. An essential presence, especially since his wife is a specialist in tapestry and offers balloon decor souvenirs.
Not to be missed on Monday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, the Balloon Flea Market where pilots can sell or exchange aeronautical material.
