The madness of the pins

25 Jan 2023

In the 1990s, the craze in the ballooning community was the pin. In gilded or silver metal, or plastic. In general, each pilot had a badge made with his balloon in effigy. Thus thousands of small pins were exchanged between enthusiasts. Important collections were thus born (one of them can be discovered in the Aéromusée Pilâtre de Rozier in Chambley). Beyond that, each event organizer published hundreds of copies to immortalize the event. Even if the fashion is not so intense anymore, during the Mondial Air Ballons we still find some pilots who exchange their precious memories for the pleasure of those who did not know.
