Anaël and Damien are the two latest pilots to graduate from the Ecole Internationale d’Aérostation Pilâtre de Rozier. This brings the total number of students trained in the last 3 years to 9. That is to say, almost a hundred men and women have obtained their precious balloonist’s qualification. The last five have done so with the application of the European and national reform of theoretical and practical training. Twenty hours of practical training and around fifty hours of theory, culminating in in-flight and computer-based exams, pilots now hold a pilot’s license which they must renew regularly, including a medical certificate and a skill test by a flight examiner.
