More than 700 pilots from 50 nations will gather at Chambley airfield from July 21 to 30. That’s just over 500 balloons in all shapes and colors. As usual, as the registration deadline approached, latecomers rushed to submit their documents and pay their fees. It’s a safe bet that a few will be calling in the next few days, claiming they missed the deadline. We remember that one year, a German pilot registered on the last Sunday to have the pleasure of flying his new balloon among hundreds of others.
