Après une tentative avortée, l’avion de Bertrand Piccard est arrivé au Bourget sans encombre après un vol de 16 heures, mardi soir, peu avant 21h. Parti de Bruxelles avec André Borschberg comme pilote d’essai, l’avion s’est posé sans encombre à l’issue d’un vol entre deux fronts pluvieux. Cet avion à énergie solaire (64 mètres d’envergure – un Airbus A 380- pèse 1,6 tonne avec 12.000 cellules photovoltaïques) devrait tenter le tour du monde en cinq étapes (sans doute en 2013-2014). Bertrand Piccard, promoteur du projet sera au Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons. Auparavant l’avion sera l’invité d’honneur de la 49è édition du Salon International du Bourget à partir du 20 juin.

After a failed test, Bertrand Piccard’s plane has arrived at “Le Bourget” on Tuesday evening after a 16-hour flight. Coming from Brussels with André Borschberg as a pilot, the plane landed safely after a rainy flight. This solar-powered aircraft (64 meter wingspan – an Airbus A 380 – weight 1.6 tons with 12,000 solar cells) should attempt to turn around the world into five stages (probably 2013-2014). Bertrand Piccard will be participating to Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons. Before, the aircraft will be the guest of honor at the 49th edition of the International Paris Air Show starting on June 20th.
