Ce serait à priori une oie qui aurait heurté le nez d’un Boeing 737 d’United Airlines. L’impact s’est produit en plein vol à une quarantaine de kms de Denver, en provenance de Dallas – Fort Worth. Les pilotes ont du se déclarer en situation d’urgence, mais ont pu sans dommage se poser à destination. Au sol l’équipage a constaté un trou béant dans le nez de l’appareil. Selon la FAA, 9.622 impacts d’animaux ont été constatés aux Etats-Unis en 2010 contre 1793 il y a vingt ans, mais la plupart ont lieu à une altitude de moins de 150 m.

It would be a priori a goose that would have hit the nose of a United Airlines Boeing 737. The impact occurred in the air at about forty km far from Denver, coming from Dallas – Fort Worth. The pilots have had to declare an emergency situation, but could safely land at destination. Once on the ground, the crew found a gaping hole in the nose of the aircraft. According to the FAA, 9,622 wildlife strikes were recorded in the U.S. in 2010 against 1793 twenty years ago, but most take place at an altitude of less than 150 m.
