đŹđ§ The astronauts’ outfits
NASA has just communicated on the new clothes that the astronauts will wear for their arrival on the Moon, planned from 2025. Four astronauts are planned, including at least one woman and one person of color, and maybe one European. We immediately think of Thomas Pesquet who made a small tweet about the new suit saying that it would fit very well to a European. Clever wink. Two of them (including a woman) will have the privilege of descending to the surface of the Moon and will stay there for six and a half days. These suits are more flexible and allow more activities like squatting, walking and bending. And if the first version designed by Esther Marquis and the firm Axiom Space was presented in black and orange, the final version will be white to reflect the light. It’s been 40 years since the suits have changed.
