March 30: a date that marks

Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier was born in Metz on March 30, 1754 (died June 15, 1785). His father Mathurin, a retired soldier, created the circle of officers. His mother Marguerite takes care of the 4 children (two boys and two girls). The young Pilâtre will become, a few years later, the first captain of an air vessel.
The young Pilâtre will become, a few years later, the first captain of an air vessel. But his stroke of genius is undoubtedly to have adapted a basket under the balloon of the Montgolfier brothers to take place there on November 21, 1783. We also owe him the invention of the rozière (combination of a gas balloon and a hot air balloon) which will cause his loss on June 15, 1785. Both the first pilot and the first death in the air.
