March 30: a date that marks
Jean-François Pilâtre de Rozier was born in Metz on March 30, 1754 (died June 15, 1785). His father Mathurin, a retired soldier, created the circle of officers. His mother Marguerite takes care of the 4 children (two boys and two girls). The young Pilâtre will become, a few years later, the first captain of an air vessel.
