We always think we’re ahead of schedule, or not too far behind. But as the days go by, more and more unresolved details appear. As one event planner put it, “30% of events are planned, 70% are unplanned”. That’s a bit of an exaggeration, no doubt, but in an event like #GEMAB, the impact of the weather is already creating uncertainties. The first few days of site set-up since June 26 have been sunny, even scorching hot. Since July 14, rain has made its appearance, but this hasn’t dampened the spirits of the teams on site. And it’s an opportunity to tie up any loose ends, sheltered in the hangars.
