Cela fait 32 ans que le tĂ©lescope Hubble circule autour de la Terre. Le problĂšme aujourdâhui est quâil ne dispose pas de moteur et quâĂ force il finira par rentrer en 2027 dans lâatmosphĂšre et sera dĂ©truit. Il perd de lâaltitude. Ce serait pour la NASA une perte considĂ©rable car avec lâautre tĂ©lescope James Webb, il permet dâobserver lâespace. DĂ©jĂ Ă son actif, il nous a permis dâapprendre quâil existe 300 milliards de galaxies dans lâunivers. La solution serait dâenvoyer un satellite dotĂ© dâun bras mĂ©canique pour le remonter Ă 600 km dâaltitude. Parmi les entreprises privĂ©es qui ont annoncĂ© vouloir relever le pari, on note bien entendu SpaceX. Une course contre la montre est lancĂ©e pour intervenir avant 2025.

The Hubble telescope has been circling the Earth for 32 years. The problem today is that it does not have an engine and that it will end up entering the atmosphere in 2027 and will be destroyed. It loses altitude. This would be a considerable loss for NASA because with the other telescope James Webb, it allows us to observe space. Already to its credit, it has allowed us to learn that there are 300 billion galaxies in the universe. The solution would be to send a satellite with a mechanical arm to raise it to 600 km altitude.
